This week, I have a card sketch for you and a sample! These are super fun and very popular in the world of paper scrapping/card making! One of the tricks to making a hybrid card is to pick some of the layers that you can print separate than the card itself. That way, you can cut those out, stick them on and really give a dimensional feel to it. However, I don’t do every piece because that is the joy of having it part digital. I usually pick the things that would be harder to cut (like scallops) to remain on the printed part of the card and I just add a drop shadow. Then the easy lined stuff, I print separate, cut and glue! With this card, I also added two star shaped brads to really give it some pop!
We have a hybrid section in the gallery, so feel free to upload your card and link it here! I would love to see what you come up with using this sketch!
Here is the sketch:

The kit I used for my card, is a brand new release by “Down This Road” Designs. I just love her stuff, and this kit is AMAZING! Both my husband and I served missions for our church, and I can’t wait to use this kit to scrap those memories. She tells me she may even have one coming for us girls!

And here is my card:

I will be hosting the Monday Moments for the month of March! I am very excited! It’s about capturing the little moments, in each day and recording them or scrapping about them. With spring coming or even just when snow dumps on us in a day, we can capture play! So, for this week, I want you to find something that has to do with playing and scrap about it! Even if you don’t have children, you can do this! It can be about playing games with friends or a sporting event. There are all types of play! Here is my layout, to show, as an example!

credits: I used Scrappin Daisies fabulous kit “Startastic” that she has been giving away every friday, here on the blog! Be sure to check in for each part!

Hi everyone Angie here to bring you the Saturday Scrapper! This is where we all get to know a little more about one of the Fabulous Scrappers at Brownie Scraps!!
Today we are going to get to know Hildur!! She was nice enough to answer a few questions I asked her and share some amazing layouts that she has created.
1- My full name is Hildur Sonja Guðmundsdóttir (without the Icelandic characters that is spelled Gudmundsdottir) and I am just turned the big 3 0 back in January. I am married to my best friend and we have been together for twelve years last February and will celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary coming this April. I have two great kids: Sebastíanw how will be 5 this year and our little Skellibjöllu (Tinkerbell) – Hrafnhildur who will become 2 years old this May. I work as a special ed teacher at a daycare facility two blocks away from our home. I am keeping my eyes open for another job and more fit for my education but I hold a master’s degree in general psychology and also in criminal justice as well a teaching certificate for secondary educational level.
2- I moved to Florida in August 2001 and was introduced to paper scrapping over there. And I have to admit that quickly turned into an addiction with all that goes with it. Then we moved back home to Iceland in August 2004 and with that I lost my scrapping space. Therefore, I took about a 4 years “vacation” from scrapping. Just before my daughter was born I discovered digital scrapping and I am liking it more and more – especially since there is no mess associated with it!
3- My kids are my biggest inspirations at the moment. but then again I also have about 5 years worth of pictures to scrap since I took that involuntary break.
4- As much it always annoyed me not being able to snack while I was doing paper scrapping I seem to have left that habit with the paper as there is little to no snacking urge with the digital
5- Pretty much just any color that goes with my kids
I used to not like any browns, blacks, yellows, purples and so many more but I guess I have grown out of those ideas. But my all time faves are soft and warm colors.
6- It is quite hard to pick just one so I guess I’ll have to put down a few for you.

I am really happy with how the blend came out in this photo.

this one just describes my daughter to a T! And I love how I was able to cartch the real her in both the photos and the LO.

this one here is very dear to me as it brings back so many wonderful memories of my son's first days.
Thank you Hildur for taking the time to answer these questions so that we could get to know you better. Stay tuned for next weeks Saturday Scrapper.

I am so excited to do a hybrid project for you every Wednesday in the month of March! This first one is so fun! I used a new kit that Bethany has coming out this weekend, so be on the watchout! It’s super cute and fun! I even have reason to believe that she will have the little templates I used for this, maybe as a gift with purchase!
So, I thought how fun it is to get candy for Christmas, and candy for Valentine’s day, but how about for St. Patrick’s day? Wouldn’t your kids friends be so excited to get one of these little goodies? I even made one for you to give that special person in your life! The words are from one of my favorite songs by Jason Mraz and I thought it was too perfect for this often forgotten holiday! Well, now you’ll be set!
They are super easy. You just print out the template, cut and then fill jewelry bags (the small ones) with candy.

Then you just fold the cardstock around it, punch a few holes and tie some ribbon! Super easy, but looks like you spent a few hours!

And remember…Keep your eyes peeled for Bethany’s new kit!!!
